I'll have to get back to this thread but by fraternity I mean construction, maintenance, development and advancement of group identity. Even at modest levels of abstraction there is an enormous amount of machinery devoted to this.
I imagine 'the right' will struggle getting rid of group identity while unified in a collection is project of destroying group identities, being a group identity in itself.
