most lefty research of that type is verily "big if true" but unfalsifiable, unverifiable and generally bullcrap (starting from early influences/originators like Gramsci, and onwards)
I wouldn't apply 'falsifiability' to these theories. They are speculative which doesn't necessarily mean wrong. However, grev. studies 'discplines' take a general insight into power for example and then create a series of nonsense claims, abandoning reason in the process.

I kind of think that if your theory of "power" doesn't make testable unique predictions about future it has become effectively sci-fi and at this point you may as well introduce a "collective unconscious" or psychic vampires into it
