Ethnostates and Patchwork https://xenogothic.wordpress.com/2018/06/13/ethnostates-and-patchwork/ … A fragment that nearly derailed another post on something completely different...

Yes! Written about Nancy in particular a few times on the blog. More into Blanchot's framing than this though ("unavowable community"), but the general concerns are absolutely there.

Someone will have to save patchwork from those deconstructionist. Although it would be hella devilish to patch-pill some Derridians at a SPEP meeting.

I have a collection at home that deals with Nancy and Lingis, not sure about Derrida, and they’re generally derided (if I remember correctly) as misreading all their sources. Nancy definitely is. There is precedent here. Patchpilling might not be too difficult.

Would like to know the name of that collection when you get a chance.

This one: http://www.sunypress.edu/p-4836-the-obsessions-of-georges-batai.aspx … Interesting (relatively) recent essay by Nancy admitting he got a lot wrong but an essay *by* Lingis rather than *about* him. I wrote on the Nancy essay in my first VA post.
