I mentioned neutrality because of the OP and it's also important for clarifying Schmitt's problems with liberalism. Hilbert wasn't about neutrality per se either, but about formalization and automation. "Wir müssen wissen — wir werden wissen", that went up in flames after Godel.

That's the problem I have whenever stuff like "absolute automation" gets thrown around. Transcendent pontification or immanent synchronization are both stillborn ambitions.
