So... I've been thinking about this for a while... and assuming Land isn't doing some fancy rhetorical magic... (1) Capitalism is not separable from human goals, (2) AI will not need capitalism, (3) ergo, Land is wrong.

The only situation under which AI+capitalism make sense is if biological humans are using the two as a substrate. So maybe Land wants us to speed up the switch to that substrate.

There is a meme-vs-gene dichotomy at play. I happen to think humanity is genes over memes, but machine transhumanists think humans are memes over genes. A full “upgrade” will erase us biologically, which means I (a biological being) have no reason to care about my descendants.

I doubt humanity could ever be erased. All it would take is a few people choosing to remain human

A seed population of a few hundred females plus a few males would be quite sufficient (makes a Dr. Strangelove face)

This sounds more like an incel fantasy but...

No, abandoning biological body for a silicon substrate is the ultimate incel fantasy.

I think we can agree that the future belongs to the incel. It will be a short future but...
