Nope, I read Marx’s words to support my position, of negotiation and open adaptation (not control) to intitial conditions. It’s the lock-in bullshit and the ideology of inescapable subsumption that gets added to it that has me chuckling.

Marx's work is the great philosophy of historical lock-in (the third volume of Capital is, in fact, the U/Acc ur-text)

So Arran tells me I’m reading ‘lock in’ and inevitability into Marx, you tell me he is the lock in king and all about inevitability, but somehow I’m still wrong? Must me inherently mistaken at an ontological level... ha.

Marx definitely presents capital as locking-in once it has kicked off, with the production of the new occurring via passage through the grind of its development (it's all the interplay of the organic composition, the ROP and its tendencies, etc. from here)

This is also the key point for D&G in C&S, which is why they eschew attempts to exit the system via grand revolution, but do not see the lock-in as identical to homogenization (and we shouldn't either)

Marx in his letters with Vera Zasulich suggested that in a place where the capitalist mode of production never took root there *may* be the possibility of escaping this condition, though the legacy of the Russian agricultural commune that was the [partial] topic of that

correspondence was to be primitive accumulation for capital via the Soviet industrial drive, which is a perhaps bitter confirmation of the 'harder' bits of Marx's analysis (and wholly in keeping with D&G's own assessment)

All of this is isomorphic to Nietzsche's nihilism as a process of creative destructive that must be moved through - accelerated, even, in his own words.

I'll also take this opportunity to point out that @ObCap's essay that Land called "fundamentalist" was deemed as such for taking accelerationism thought to its core, by tracing D&G back into Marx and Nietzsche, and that this was something to be affirmed.
