I would consider the long-range processes to be underneath the political, and interfaces with it, but it is not in-itself political as such

Interface politics negotiating with long term and massive scaled processes... Isn’t this just what l/acc is as such?

L/Acc labors under the delusion that it drives, or can drive, the process, instead of being a conduit for it (a brief recourse to, well, every developmentalist state - which is what L/Acc's program ultimately entails - is enough to demonstrate this)

Isn’t an automated developmentalist state just a certain kind of patchwork? The delusion isn’t, it seems to me, whether social processes (”politics”) can drive drive larges scale trajectories, but rather if they/we can play a causal role in the dispersed outcomes.

Replying to @brightabyss @EBBerger and
The nuance is about driving vs. influencing/adapting to the forces you see as completely beyond our control and inevitable in its direction. None would argue that we ‘drive’ natural processes. But we, quite obviously, influence them.

actually why not? are you suggesting that climate change is not driven by human activity?

I never mentioned climate change. Humans are driving processes resulting in carbon redistributions creating extreme changes in climate. I think that question is better directed at Edmund.

Of course civilization and industrial development is the trigger for climate change.

CC is the result of a solution (civilization, etc) to a set of problems. Evolution is the production of solutions that becomes problems at the next level.

Agreed! But the general direction any given solution set takes is not predestined nor locked in as Accelerationist fundamentalists assume. The “conditions” (solution assemblages) we develop obviously - in the case of CC - have causal efficacy. Even capitalism is a human solution
