  7. The perception of being unpleasant when they advocate for the ppl they are caring for is amplified for female caregivers, who like female employees, are often seen as bossy, obnoxious, unpleasant rather than being seen as leaders, decisive, persistent & committed.

  11. Before we vilify our system, let’s appreciate that we get care when needed and never walk out with a bill like in many ‘Third World countries’ or USA! Yes, we have to improve but we need to also acknowledge what we have.

    I lost my mum on 1st Dec. She lived in a nursing home for the last three years. I went their yesterday to visit some of the residents I got to know while mum was their. It's a lonely time for them some have no family. If you know someone in a nursing home please visit.

    Health Canada just announced it's revamping how medical devices are approved/regulated to improve oversight/safety. Changes include promises of a new database for adverse events, and more stringent requirements for clinical evidence before device approval
