What happens if a teachers ever misuses the gun? I like the idea of having retired vets guard schools.
Armed Educators (and trusted people who work within a school) love our students and will protect them. Very smart people. Must be firearms adept & have annual training. Should get yearly bonus. Shootings will not happen again - a big & very inexpensive deterrent. Up to States.

Shouldn't armed teachers be up to teachers? I'm not so sure you're going to have enough teachers willing to do that. Wouldn't armed security guards be a better choice. More than one at a time for each school?

Also, I’d hate to be a teacher of color with a gun post-shooting when SWAT comes in trying to ID the shooter. I’m sure that would go smoothly based on all previous shootings of UNarmed people of color.

School shooters are Caucasian so it shouldn't be an issue.
