That is of course assuming that Kim Jong Un is sane, and that his rhetoric of attacking us is all bluster. And it wouldn't end well for us if we did in any way attack North Korea, and they uncovered proof. In this case,it would mostly likely just end in sanctions, but still...

Which is why I've come to the following conclusion: we cannot under any circumstances preemptively attack North Korea, at the very least not unless China agrees to it. Even then, North Korea would likely retaliate, and try to destroy South Korea and any US targets in range.
