You also realize that almost half of all shareholders in the American stock market are foreigners, right? A healthy stock market doesn't help the lower classes, and barely helps the middle classes here in the US.

Stocks are a lagging indicator of Economic activity usually. This means that economic policies put in place months and years ago are why the market is up. Give it 4-6 months and lets see where things are at.
