Sleepy Joe Biden (mostly his reps.) went crazy when I banned, in late January, people coming in from China. He called me “xenophobic” & then went equally “nuts” when we let in 44,000 people - until he was told they were American citizens coming home. He later apologized!

The returning passengers were not tested or quarantined. Why do you think we have so many more cases now than countries much closer to China? Because they tested arrivals and quarantined infected people. Why didn’t we do that?

Trump “banned” people from China when airlines already stopped international travel from China into the United States. Effectively, Trump did nothing to reduce air travel that was already heavily restricted. It was all performative virtue signaling that changed nothing at all.
