As a Californian, my state has been hit by so many mass shootings while Trump only offers useless thoughts and prayers. Enough is enough. Unless we make substantial changes to our gun laws, history will repeat itself again and again at the cost of so many innocent lives.

This awful mass shooting and hate crime in Poway, California is heartbreaking for so many reasons. Mostly because it’s absolutely senseless and preventable but these attacks have become a regular thing. It hasn’t even been a year since the synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh.

No other country in the world cares so little about its citizens that it completely ignores mass shootings and hate crimes the way we do. After the horrible massacre in New Zealand, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern make swift changes and banned assault weapons nationwide.

Moreover, this synagogue shooting comes right after Trump met with the NRA like a loyal lapdog and excused the neo-Nazis and white supremacists in Charlottesville as “very fine people” protecting the traitorous legacy of Robert E. Lee.

Trump promotes the very type of hatred, anti-Semitism, bigotry, and violence that emboldens these mass shooters. The next mass shooter is planning his attack and our president is doing nothing about it besides going crazy on Twitter attacking others like a cheap bully.

Unless we have a nationwide ban on semi-automatic weapons, mass shootings will continue to be a terrorized way of life for all of us. California has strict gun laws but other nearby states like Arizona, which is close to Poway, doesn’t. People can move from state to state easily.

Just because the Second Amendment gives the American people the right to bear arms, it does not mean there cannot be any limitations for our safety and security. The First Amendment gives us our freedom of speech but it does not allow us to yell fire in a crowded movie theater.

By that same principle, the Second Amendment shouldn’t give people the right to own semi-automatic weapons like AR-15s to mow down entire crowds of innocent people like a one-man army. Let’s use some basic common sense to protect our country and its people.

Anti-semitism is one piece of the wave of hatred and violence Trump has unleashed with his campaign of racism and fear. People of good will reject Trump and all he stands for.

How is trump projecting antisemitism? His daughter and son in and law are both Jewish. He has recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. He has reaffirmed his commitment to Israel more than any other president, while democrats just sit there and support terrorist in Palestine

Don’t waste your time even trying with these people, they are blinded with their hatred of President Trump. He can cure cancer and still they will attack him

Stop tweeting thoughts and prayers, no one wants prayers to white republican Jesus. Do some meaningful gun reform legislation instead of empty lies.
