The #FakeNews is willing to talk about anything but President Trump’s endless accomplishments, even if it means making stuff up.
Sad!

Poverty!? YOU ARE A MORON and corporate shill for the formula industry. That shit is expensive and many who don’t have access to clean water, like those in Flint, ahem, should NOT be making formula at all. Breast is BEST, and we need to stop with this
#AlternativeFacts BS. -
I had to feed my daughter formula cause I have inverted nipples and she didn’t have the patience to wait for me to use a nipple shield. So..taking away formula would be a bad hung for people like me. I don’t like trump but this is one of the cases I actually agree with his tweet

Poverty and malnutrition don’t prevent
#breastfeeding. What prevents breastfeeding is inadequate support, such as total absence of paid parental leave, absence of lactation support, and work requirements for Medicaid.https://www.forbes.com/sites/tarahaelle/2018/07/10/dairy-industry-trumps-infant-health-with-u-s-rejection-of-breastfeeding-resolution/ … -
Strong U.S. support of global breastfeeding policy to “protect, promote & support breastfeeding” will not deny any women access to formula. Many women have infants whose survival relies on sound
#breastfeeding policy- especially women experiencing malnutrition and poverty. - 1 more reply

Because of malnutrition and poverty? It cost pennies a day to supplement a breastfeeding mother's diet Compared to the nearly 2k/year to formula feed. If a mother had access to decent food her cost to feed her baby? $0.00 Why not support WIC INSTEAD formula companies? Jerk

Supporting breastfeeding doesn’t equate to denying access to formula. One can be supportive of global & domestic breastfeeding & also support individuals who supplement w/formula. This tweet is misleading. Malnutrition & poverty are not the leading causes of supplementation in US

Are you aware of the specific language that the Trump administration wanted removed?
-
Per NYTimes-American officials sought to water down the resolution by removing language that called on governments to “protect, promote and support breast-feeding” & another passage that called on policymakers to restrict the promotion of food products that many experts say...
-
can have deleterious effects on young children.
-
I recommend reading the actual resolution, not just the article. Actual resolution said complete ban on any promotion on any level down to retail, including coupons, sales, or samples. Even an honest breast milk alternative company could never promote
-
I have read the resolution. This language speaks more toward predatory marketing practices of formula companies. I’m not opposed to formula. It has an important role. Many of the families you are referring to do not have access to objective infant feeding information or resources
-
Yes, I agree it was geared toward predatory and thus needed. I just think some of the wording went too far and needed some revision. That's the whole point of US objection. Not to ban whole resolution.
-
Much of that wording came directly from the WHO Code. I believe most folks are reacting to the tactics used by the US Delegation to weaken the language of the resolution. These actions were counterproductive.
