    I’m on the program committee for the CNCFCon/KubeCon for both Shanghai and Seattle this year, reviewing talks in the Observability track (for Shanghai) and service mesh track (for Seattle). Thoughts so far after reviewing some proposals:

    Great article by Paul as usual. Although I think we differ in opinion on the effectiveness of open core, I largely agree with his points. Fundamentally, FOSS is not actually free. The 💰 must come from somewhere. I would like to clarify my point from my previous thread though.

    I wrote some thoughts about the licensing drama. I think it's overblown so here's my argument in defense of and . It's time for the open source community to get real:

    some suggestions, as requested. * if releasing is risky for you, _fix that_. make it a priority, track your failures * do this by making your pipeline resilient, by detecting and recovering from common failures * in the near term, deploy in the morning so everyone is fresh
