Thank you for all the kind words... he insisted on going back to his apartment but promised to text when he got home and call me if he needed me.He just kept saying he doesn’t want this to set him back to where he was. He’s scared and I’m scared.I am calling his therapist in am.

My experience, and so my faith, is that the spirit of your son's dog will be with him closely. Their love for each other is not a physical, tangible thing that can be lost. And a dog's love, oh my god.. no boundaries, no end.
