As a german who always tried to understand how all of this could happen, the last few years of US politics have been pretty enlightening.
I'm American, but I too have long wondered how German people allowed Hitler & the trains & the camps & the ovens to happen. These were the parents of my generation, of my German colleagues & friends. I no longer wonder. I'm living it. One generation later. Shameful. @Truth2Come

Yes. I grew up knowing Holocaust survivors; it shaped me. One said often: “careful what freedoms you give up; before you know it, you’ve given up them all.” We collectively slumbered too long. The nightmare is real, not an imaginary.
