doctors' attitudes can vary massively in these countries. older doctors more negative, younger female doctors in particular more accepting.

In Iran, the choice is 'transition' to the 'opposite sex' and 'become straight' or face the death penalty for being gay. 'Transitioning away the gay' is not only a phenomenon in Iran though.
