      2. The news out of Brussels is grim: At least two back-to-back explosions at the well-guarded airport, and at least one at a train station

      3. Death toll is still preliminary but I fear damage is significant. If nothing else extremists succeeded in penetrating best guarded venue

      4. As far as civilian targets, I can't think of anything that is better guarded than an airport and yet that's where these bombs went off

@rcallimachi Better guarded AFTER the security station, the line at the security station or check-in is a soft target.

          6. That's not unusual: Took more than a day to get ISIS' claim post Nov 13; and several days for AQAP to claim Charlie Hebdo

@rcallimachi The planes are well guarded, but the main entrances ? not so sure. You can come and go as you please. Same thing with metro.

@rcallimachi Not all parts of an airport are well guarded. Luggage pick up and ticketing are BEFORE security screenings in most airports

@rcallimachi Are you sure that this is true? Seems to me that it is very easy to just walk into a terminal. No individual checks at all...

@rcallimachi It seems there were security gaps that allowed terrorists to reach where they did. They had obviously recceed carefully
