People still read books today despite having theater, cinema, escape games, videos games, theme parks, etc. So even though I'm personally ALL about the richness and depths of interactions I do get that there is a palette. The proportion becomes the question mark.
Apart from the terminology rants, you think that 3DoF / 360 Content is here to stay? Easy to build and scale and seems to satisfy many users? Or you think 95% of headsets in 5 years will be 6DoF and 3DoF will be dead? I feel biased and overfitting confident ...

Sure, but no one is using mainframes anymore. In fact, I suspect more people are used to touch than a keyboard and mouse. The Walkman is dead as well. Maybe it will be the case that there is 3DoF is here to stay. I should try and adopt Consumer centric thinking one day haha

I think it’s useful to consider 360 and 180 content as photography or imagery, there will be far more of them till true 3d imagery becomes standard. Google street view or Wander are immensely useful and can be experienced by huge swathes of the population.
