Dredge is supurb and you should play it.
Nailed a sense of creeping horror. Is beautiful and so well composed too (both visually & audibly).
And everything is so tightly executed(!) I can't recall feeling disengaged from the game and it's world at all

My computer keeps randomly locking up and buzzing the last ms of audio, forcing a manual reset. It is so so frustrating(!) and seems to happen anywhere from 15 mins after rebooting to 12 hours. Usually under load but not always?? How do I even diagnose the problem??? - _ -
10+ years of game industry development experience, multiple released titles, an MSc in Computer Science with published papers, more game jams than I could possibly count...
and still when I get the UI navigation to finally work the way I want it to I'm like "aw yisss"

at this point i feel the majority of game design trainwrecks can be averted by asking:
1. is there a midway version of this feature we could build to test faster?
2. are we over-solving problems we may not run into?
3. is everyone *actually* excited to build this feature?

Game Engine tutorials are either

At some point, processing power will become so powerful that we'll just hit a sufficiently high (200?, 300?) FPS and won't bother going higher. There will be no need to render at variable frame rates.
