The idea that chefs preparing food from other cultures is somehow "wrong" seems so utterly backwards and nonsensical to me that I can't make sense of it. Why should skin color dictate what food I can cook?!

What about a Korean chef bringing southern barbecue to Seoul... is that cultural appropriation? Name me one thing that is different between a korean chef cooking barbecue and a white chef cooking stir fry.

Define your version of racism because I don't think you truly know what it means? FYI--its not the buzzword of the moment. Racism is systemic & multi-facted. It operates on several principles & factors all at once. Cultural appropriation is only ONE of its toxic modalities.
