Just saw a serverless λ function in Rust take 1.17ms (built with upcoming `@now/rust`). Might have to offer 1ms-based pricing soon 😜pic.twitter.com/DlhN1JgYbk

Is 1ms including starting up? Or is that just execution time?

Exec. Startup is around the same ballpark for Rust usually and scales notoriously well with binary size. Will share more soon

Best part about this is how it changes both the design of and workflows for building apps. Better on all metrics: faster to author, deploy, run, scale and the price is nice too 👍

Hi, what about @awscloud RDS ? And soon Aurora when it will be serverless with a pay-per-request plan ?

Another great option. Also CosmosDB, MongoDB Atlas, Cloud Firestore

The best on all fronts is DynamoDB with the minor exception of syntax/modelling familiarity (imo). All fine options tho I'm sure.

I tried hard to Google for @now/$lang but failed. Where can I preview this, what is it? Is it a name for aws lambda runtimes in testing/preview? My last experience with rust + lambda was a very sad, slow panda. Didn't realize you could build against musl stable now. Oh ARM?

We'll put it on the list! If you're interested in building a builder, you can create your own by following this guide:https://zeit.co/docs/v2/deployments/builders/developer-guide/ …

I just saw that GHC is helpfully distributed as a binary https://www.haskell.org/ghc/download_ghc_8_6_3.html#linux_x86_64 … which means we can model it after @now/go and @now/rust cc @_anmonteiro
