I stopped reading or contributing to Hacker News a decade or more ago. The people there aren’t worth it. They’re mostly pseudo-intellectuals in the tradition of Paul Graham - meaning they use big words, without actually knowing anything about the topic.
Thanks for this. PG was considered a guru among my colleagues, but I think it took someone, maybe even you, pointing out their gaps for me to really start being more critical of the words I read from all authors. It's helped immensely with my research.
