As I deal with more and more people, I'm finding my patience to be shrinking. It's tough to engage on the topics I do, know the harm of the ideas I challenge, yet remember that I'm generally a nice person.

Trolls are a problem, often brought on by the topics I engage in. I don't really mute or block, but maybe that's something I need to reconsider. To make room for intense but decent engagement, maybe I need to get rid of trolls. It's a challenge though.

It's tough, I'm just thinking out loud. Maybe all I can do is try to be nicer to some people. Even some of those I frequently strongly disagree with I can be nicer to. I don't worship civility, but I am who I know myself to be, and he's a nice guy.

intentions. Then, I start feeling, IDK, something like paranoid. I mean, it can change the way I see other people and their intentions, and I don't want to be like that. I don't want to be too ready to accuse, but I feel myself more ready to do so and less patient...

Yeah, you understand! You slowly start to feel the change. I snap quicker, I'm less trusting of intent when someone says something "wrong". I think at least seeing it will help us.

I've started treating my attention as a commodity. Trolls want to use bottom-up attention grabbing ploys to essentially steal it. Before I engage, I now ask "Is this someone worth the value of my attention?" If I keep saying "no" to the same account, then I block or mute.

I would seriously consider at least muting the most excessive trolls. Especially if you continue to engage on the topics you do.

We can make Twitter a better place, so long as more folks follow the lead of people like you. The trolls will probably never go away. We might have to start thinking of them as spam email. But instead of spamming ads, they spam something different.

I want to be tolerant, but some people take advantage of that tolerance, or so it seems. I feel like I have some idea of what you mean, and I think you engage very well on this platform. I actually think you lead by example. For what that is worth.

I think you do a great job on here. Trolls and other people with bad intentions poison the well of discussion. Like the Emil guy you brought up. He brought up something very complicated, something I have given some study, but, given his other positions, I doubt he had good...
