You literally filtered out video results for this, if you’re going to lie at least do it well

My own search in
@YouTube app is same. Videos about@scrowder and@TheLaurenChen top the results, while videos by the Young Turks dominate that search. The algorithm is obviously not treating them the same.pic.twitter.com/K1f2gSPHDp

Young Turks has almost 4x as many video views as Lauren Chen. That's probably the reason the algorithm is showing it so high- because it's more popular.

Could be. Now do Crowder, who’s subs is comparable to TYT, but the first video returned by the search is on a channel named“Earthling Ed.”

The search prioritizes videos with the search term in the title

Then what happened w/ TYT? None of the titles of the top returns has “Young” or “Turks” in the title, which was my search term.pic.twitter.com/TXHGmFR4Kc

I'd imagine the algorithm's pretty complicated, and absolutely optimized for engagement. Searches for some channels, eg TYT or Achievement Hunter, presumably more likely to engage w/ channel's videos than w/ others talking about them. Maybe not, but hardly evidence of conspiracy.

Or maybe it's a feature YT offers to big channels, letting big engagement-drivers ensure their videos fill the searches. Still not a sign of "censorship".

You are offering a lot of “maybes” to judge the observed differences as benign, but there are other data that counters them. For example,
@RubinReport has a pretty big YT footprint, but his frustration with being unable to discuss demonized videos w/ a person is well known.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

My point is that there are repeatable differences in what the search engine returns, and there seems to be correlation between the anomalous behavior and the politics of the channel searched. I don’t see how this observation can be denied. (cont)

That hypothesis is not supported by the evidence. It happily serves you other channels supporting his material.

Occam's Razor here: is it more likely, in the grand scheme of things, that YouTube is running a vast, yet ineffectual, conspiracy to lightly depress the views on their 2046th-most-popular channel, or that TYT has good SEO?
