According to the Little Girl Blue book, Karen Carpenter gave her final singing performance 40 years ago today. She sang to the twin children of one of her closest friends, and their classmates at a school in California. Karen died 7 weeks later. Just heartbreaking.

Karen Carpenter had one of the greatest voices of all time. And was an amazing drummer.
She died at the age of 32 (1983) of heart failure due to complications from anorexia β which was little-known outside celebrity circles at the time. It shocked the world.
She was angelic.
