China understood me. 'The Chinese side proposed that both sides conduct respective comprehensive investigations, and should there be "inconsistencies", both sides should establish a "joint investigation group" and exchange information directly rather than through media.' TY China

China will not go to war. At the Munich Security Conference she threw away deterrence by admitting she has only a minimal nuclear arsenal. She wants to be rich and get richer. Not dead and be deader. Other powers want that for others and so for themselves.

The US Seventh Fleet can destroy all life forms on the Asian mainland with the first salvo while the US is too far away to reach. Even cockroaches will perish. We might all be dead but China won't prevail. twitter.com/tonylavs/statu

What did not prevent what the Chinese vessel did to our Filipino fishermen was the politeness to the point of servility and subservience that I threw away when I came in with my foreign policy of friend to friends, enemy to enemies and worse enemy to false friend. t.co/sgQOJ4g321

ICC filing is not a test on China to accept its skewed due process from Alice in Wonderland, "First the judgment, then the trial." That description I gave in UN got approval. China not a member nor are we. We now follow US precedent.

And if Del Rosario used it to ‘test’ Hong Kong’s willingness to accept due process (ICC filing) and free speech (criticisms), it also tests Philippine resolve in those two areas. Both have failed, it seems to me.

Um, uh, even you say it's still an allegation. You know, this will still be news tomorrow and the day after and we've got it well in hand. And, uh, the vote count's done.

Who the fuck is this guy? There will be NO joint investigation. China and Philippines will conduct their respective investigations.

#ANCEarlyEdition Rabena: If we come up with a joint investigation the terms should be clear. China has to allow us access to interview their fishermen or vice versa.

We go in the direction you suggest, we will look royally stupid. This is between private parties; that the allegedly Chinese boat is militia is speculation. Really, it isn't right to say "China should not get away with this." We need to be precise because law is all we have.

It could happen again. China should not get away with this

No, the fishermen testified already (facts can't be retracted, too detailed) and the immediate investigation easily revealed official activities like radio reports, navy actions, and Vietnamese rescue—all near contemporaneous with the event. See Rules of Evidence. t.co/bqjGEzyOhC
