Is indenting in half-tab steps (using spaces for the last half-tab) something that people do in actual projects/languages/subcultures?

I haven't coded in C with GNU style since 10+ years, but if I remember correctly, { and } are aligned with half-tabs: if (foo) { do_something(); do_another_thing(); }

And not really half-tabs, but aligning things that are indented also mixes tabs and spaces: if (condition) { a_single_statement_with_many_arguments (some_lengthy_argument, another_lengthy_argument, and_another_one, plus_one); }

I've seen it for switch and case in C as well.
