I honestly think Rust + WASM is going to be the best long term bet.
@raphlinus has written a whole text editor in it https://xi-editor.io/ and there's some really neat Rust libs here: https://github.com/linebender Also, Raph's blogposts: https://raphlinus.github.io/1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

I could see that happening. And some cool stuff being done with low-level rendering. But I don't see a usable high-level UI framework yet.

what's your opinion on immediate mode UIs? like https://github.com/ocornut/imgui (I know it's C++, but I was thinking a rust port compiled to wasm and rendered on a canvas could work pretty well)

Replying to @warianoguerra @jonathoda and
I like where https://guide.nannou.cc/ and https://azul.rs/ are going, not sure they are ready or fit what I need, for the moment staying on js+immutable+react land, thinking on maybe porting the core to rust later

Immediate mode GUI's have a lot going for them, and I've been inspired by them in my new direction for druid. Another thing to look at is https://github.com/makepad/makepad , which can be seen as a variant of imgui.
