Found an interesting thing: http://faculty.cs.tamu.edu/schaefer/research/kcurves.pdf … I am a little curious about that, when adopting this curve into type design, could it interpolate well (i.e., no kinks produced during interpolation). This thing is far more "direct" than B-splines.

Interesting stuff. BTW that "0.606" rang a very large if distant bell in my mind... Back in college, inspired by the Lituus, I used to "invent" damped curves (like x^(1/x) which is borderline spiritual :-) and at some point I remember hitting 1/sqrt(e) which is... 0.606.... :-)

I haven't run the math yet, but it wouldn't be at _all_ surprising. The Euler spiral is deeply related to erf, which is all about e.

Not sure if I’m doing something wrong, but the <path id="euler-curv"> has a blank d attribute when I try the interactive visualisation in Chrome.

Never mind… I see what I was doing wrong!
