This is it. This is the UK's failure to contain COVID. We've spent the money for over 9 million healthy people to stay home for a year, but thousands of sick and high-risk people are being forced into work for want of 2 weeks support.

Take aways from this article for me: People are adhering more than we think to lockdown, but people who are infected or isolating are not adhering due to lack of support.

It's incredible that CDPR made a profit on Cyberpunk from preorders, long before they let anyone see raw footage. They gamed the review system and it worked. Even with delisting, refunds, etc. the studio's done well and should recover.

Might be my favourite thing in game programming when a game runs smoother after rewriting a chunk of a core system. Real "rebuild the engine mid flight" feeling.

I hope everyone today sees the link between glitches and crashes in Cyberpunk and CDPR's year+ of crunching staff. Tired people in a hurry will always make mistakes; crunched games will be broken at launch

It sucks that the standard location for dungeon crawls was codefied as subterranean tunnel complexes instead of opulent châteauxs and decadent manses. We could have been stealing loot from cruel and degenerate nobility this whole time but instead we've been bothering goblins.

For real, any laser weapon stronger than a laser pointer will blind people forever. That risks breaking international treaties. Fortunately, the UK worked in the past to soften these treaties so blinding people is legal so long as you're really trying to burn them alive

Apple reducing their rev share to 15% (T&Cs apply!) is great news for iOS games. But they won't have done it out of kindness. Seems like they're anticipating antitrust losses. If so, it suggests new app stores may come to iOS soon with even better % or wanting exclusives. 👀
