I feel your pain.

I know all about phantom pain, but he circumcision thing has me stumped. No pun intended.

#Circumcision wouldn't be complete without#amputating something, and it's a highly sensitive area of skin that is excised. The end result is sexual intercourse is less exciting for the#victim of the#amputation, which provides no#therapeutic benefit. https://www.doctorsopposingcircumcision.org/ pic.twitter.com/vWSXQyv61E

Sometimes it is necessary, but should be strongly condemned when done as part of a religious ritual.
-
If there is a therapeutic reasons for it, then I agree just like with any other necessary medical procedure. The overwhelmingly vast majority of genital amputations (a.k.a., circumcisions) are non-therapeutic, and the procedure has also been fatal for some of the victims.
-
Sometimes it may be necessary to alleviate phimosis, which is infinitesimally rare. As “disease prevention,” it’s pseudo-medicine that does next to nothing. Like lobotomy, blood-letting and trepanning. Only religious kooks and charlatans swear by it.

Why did someone bring up circumcision anyway? I wasn't expecting that. Then I wasn't expecting the inquisition either.

I was trying to add a little bit of dark humour, and it turned into a major discussion. (I have no complaints.)
