For anyone who doesn't think inclusion in the software industry is an issue, consider that "master"/"slave" is still common terminology in tons of tools and infrastructure.

Also, this isn't about gender. You don't know my gender identity. I don't know
@justkelly_ok's. You're talking as though they identify female, but "Kelly" is gender-neutral. -
you didn't read her bio? you should try reading more before speaking. right now, you just look like another dude disrespecting a woman's boundaries. not a good look.
-
I care a lot more about what's being said than who's saying it. I feel very strongly that's a good way to avoid prejudice or bias, and one of the positive aspects of online debate.
-
so if a woman says "no" and you don't want to stop, you're just going to say you don't see gender. ok sweetie.
-
the point is that a woman said she has no interest in "debating" you, (read: you just wanted to impress your opinion upon her w/o listening) and you aren't capable of recognizing when you should shut the fuck up. no one has to debate you. women online don't have to listen to you.
-
and i get that hurts your precious feelings, that yet another woman has rejected you, but i don't give a fuck about your feelings. you just want to bleat on about "i don't see gender" which is code for "i don't listen enough to understand how identity shapes experience"

I JUST had this kind of conversation yesterday. When will men realize that part of respecting women means respecting "stop" in conversation, too? RESPECTING "SMALL" BOUNDARIES IS PART OF RESPECTING BOUNDARIES, PERIOD.

Not usually, no. Open in a public forum is a special case. "You are stupid, smelly, bad, evil and wrong. Stop tweeting at me; you may not respond." See how unreasonable that is?
