From March 2018-March 2020, I've probably averaged <40 hours/week. Sure, I've had weeks of 50+, but plenty with only 20-30, too. What's different? - Less communication overhead - Less fighting to get projects approved - Less org scaling - Less stress - Less politics /2

- More sleep - More healthy habits - More work that directly connects to customer value - More prioritizing of better decision making > prioritizing of raw output Obviously,
@sparktoro isn't perfect or done or even a "success" (yet, I hope). But... /3Pokaż ten wątek -
Looking at the product+company that
@caseyhen & I built, it is FAR closer to what's required to be considered a "success" (for SparkToro, that's: profitable, sustainable, value-delivering to customers & investors) than my last gig. Why? How? /4Pokaż ten wątek -
As of today, we have 77 paying subscribers (& we've only invited ~3,300 of our 14K early access email list to try it!). We need ~200 subs to be break-even profitable. At 4-500, we're making our investors very happy indeed. Above that... even more remarkable things can happen. /5

I believe a few things: A) Healthy habits, more sleep, less hours = smarter decisions B) Smarter decisions = more value/hours inputted C)
@caseyhen put in more hours than I did during the build phase (but, even he's maintaining a very sustainable life w/ his family) /6Pokaż ten wątek -
Perhaps most of all, we changed the definition of our startup's "success". Success ≠ $100MM min revenue within 7-10yrs at a rapid growth rate. Our customers, investors, & the two of us get "success" when we're profitable, sustainable, & value-creating. Huge difference. /7
