All I want for Xmas is... all the people I follow here on https://mastodon.social/invite/zSGRgCDa.
Now that links to Mastodon are allowed again, maybe I'll start replying to tweets, but just to say "this is great! You should share it over there." 🥰

I've had a good ride here. And a lot of that is because I joined when it was new & growing rapidly, just like Mastodon is now.
We've had an incredible wage compression that has cut the rise in 90-10 wage inequality since 1980 by a 1/3 during over just 3 years.
This is a testament to the strong fiscal and monetary policy support that allowed an unprecedented recovery in employment following a recession.
Marketing confession:
There’s a ton of opportunity in unpaid speaking gigs.
The “pay your speakers!” demand is often shortsighted.
And many people fail to understand that value doesn’t always come in the form of money.
Google stands alone in its embrace of confidentiality. Data from Jounce Media shows how Google stacks up against competitors. Over 75% of its partners are “confidential,” opening the door to abuses and schemes that steal potentially billions a year from fraud, scams, disinfo.
grew 50% last week. Clearly, our audience cares about what they offer: leadgen. But, we don't talk about it at all! A video or post on using SparkToro in that context is likely warranted.
Text Insights, too 😍
These phrases have been rising for months in the posts and discussions amongst my audience. Probably worthy of content investments, and maybe more of my social shares & engagement should be in/around these topics.
Over long periods of time (e.g. June-Dec in this screenshot), I can see my social audience's slowly shifting demographics, too.
Apparently, I'm reaching more folks in design + finance (likely more of my new followers are in those fields).
Speaking of reporting... Did you know these graphs can be customized?
Yup! Just select any set of sources from the table below, choose the timeframe from the drop-down, and you can add them to (or remove them from) the graph. Screenshot👉PowerPoint👉Client/Boss/Team
The full list of growing vs. declining trends among my followers is also 🔥🔥🔥
Especially if I had a boss or client to whom I had to report on audience behaviors and why I wanted to invest in certain tactics, channels, or programs.
This weekly Audience Tracking email is 🤩
Shows my social followers' (Twitter, LinkedIn, IG, FB, etc) biggest behavior changes.
But, it's far from the only useful data I get week-over-week...
"If everybody put their eggs in the zero-click content basket, it wouldn't be nearly as effective."
It works because most leadership teams, agencies, and marketers aren't willing (or aren't allowed) to try it.

NEW post: https://sparktoro.com/blog/maybe-better-tools-make-us-better-creators/…
"Better tools won't make you a better writer/artist/photographer/etc."
I *think* that old wisdom might be wrong. Wrote about how tools can, indeed, make us better, more productive, and more passionate about our crafts and creations.
How do algorithms respond to your zero-click content?

NOTE: This law will not be enforced until next year, so Musk has some time before facing these fines
“The DMA will be applicable as of beginning of May 2023.”
For those curious, millions of accounts are already in violation of today's new rule. Many of the most notable can be seen here: https://followerwonk.com/LTIEf

Oh, here's where you can find me on Mastodon, even though we're not allowed to share links to Mastodon, on a URL shortener that still isn't blocked, thankfully:

Here's an invite to the place they don't want us talking about: https://spacekaren.sucks/akc92
Would be a shame if folks clicked it before my account gets banned.
