Anyone got any experience with water fasting?

Take electrolytes - a decent amount of sodium and potassium (but not too much potassium because that can kill you) will make it way easier on you. Depending on how long you plan to go you may want to add in B and C vitamins because beriberi and scurvy are a thing.

If you count black coffee as "water" my record is 6 days. Be careful upon refeeding - stay away from anything that will spike your blood sugar for a day or so, because that can also kill you (though 3-5 days is pretty safe - that mostly happens after weeks without food)

Thanks for the advice. I was going to do ~7-10 days but work came up so I don't have time now. I'll keep it in mind for next time.

Strangely enough I find it easier to start a fast early in the work week - work is a good distraction from hunger for me, and I get extreme mental clarity around day 2. Probably better to ease into it the first time though.

yeah first time I was just gonna take it super easy and hang out and do very little. I am gonna have some free time in January and will knock it out then. Thanks again for your advice.

Glad to help! It's something I spent a lot of time researching and then practicing, but everyone's experience is different so I'm sure you'll find what works best for you
