Is there any income level where it begins to make sense to hire an investment manager? Or does a fee for service CFP make more sense?
-
Yes, there are options for high income and/or high net worth people, such as fee-only planners, bookkeepers, accountants. In general (w/rare exceptions) not AUM-focused. I cover more in my Advanced Personal Finance course:http://iwt.com/products

People who pay $3 for a coffee are unlikely to ever get wealthy. It’s a mindset. Save and invest. And remember you had to earn $6 to pay for that $3 coffee.

People with enough wealth to be paying $50k+in investment fees aren't exactly the demographic to be worried about a $3 coffee, no?
-
That $50k is not a one-time fee paid by the wealthy, it’s the hit you take over time by not paying attention to the drag that fees have on your investments. Tiny percentages make huge differences at the end.
