    Raleigh Police Department detectives have arrested Bobby Lee Massenburg Jr. (DOB 8/26/98) in connection with the July 30 shooting incident in the 6300 block of Shanda Drive.

    It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of K-9 Officer Knox who passed away yesterday evening because of a sudden illness. He was assigned to Senior Officer Lyman of the Canine Unit. Knox was two years old and joined the department in June of 2020.

    Reginald Monte Harrington, 49, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and hit/run fail to stop property damage in connection with this incident.

    The suspect in this domestic incident fled in his vehicle, causing multiple crashes. He jumped and ran in the 2900 block of E. Millbrook Road, where he robbed the Hibachi Buffet at knifepoint. For more info visit .

    At approximately 8:48 p.m., on September 1, officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the 4600 block of Dansey Drive. Upon arrival, officers located two adult females suffering from stab wounds. They were transported for treatment of their injuries.

    Detective Tom G. Crabtree was killed in the line of duty on August 31, 1922. Detective Crabtree heard shots fired en-route to a surveillance assignment. When he arrived on scene, he found a subject in a taxi and when he approached he was shot multiple times.
