2020 became the year I purchased a printer and remembered that printers are the hardest problem in computer science.

Installing a print server on my folk's plotter was harder than keeping the NYT's election night infrastructure up under load.

That's because printers are just physical cache invalidators.

A 3D printer is more reliable than a small-to-medium enterprise printer. Wish I was joking....

I have 7 printers, including a 3d printer. They range from $100 laser printer to a $3500 photo printer. Most get daily use. The 3d printer is by far the worst. But typically all all just keep going. The trick is to use them often.

You're obviously too young to remember internal modems. They make printers seem easy by comparison!

Only my 5th computer was modern enough to have an internal modem, I’m definitely not that young.

Try 3D printers, they are even more fun than 2D. It's not just the third axis.
