Getting laid off definitely wasn't on my 2023 list! :/
It was a good stint technically, and I enjoyed building everything that I did! A very short break before we resume programming, I guess.
Feel free to DM me, if you have any opportunities!

Agile "won" and "lost".
This is the way of ways.
Anything helpful will eventually become commodified, industrialized, and watered down to the point of being unrecognizable. It happened with Agile, and is happening with strands of product management, DevOps, design, etc.

"you can't heal a wound if you keep touching it" is obvious, yet underrated advice. you can't keep returning back to things that hurt you out of curiosity or nostalgia. You can't just tape over it and keep ripping open the bandaid. You need to let things heal

cynicism is a defense against fraud and bullshit, and it's pretty effective at that
the trouble is that you can get so good at it that you defend yourself from anything nice or good happening to you

Person 1: "Ha! You call that code pythonic? It's just a bunch of unnecessary loops and if statements. I bet I can write a more pythonic solution in half the time."
Person 2: "Oh please, your code is just a jumbled mess of list comprehensions and lambda functions."

Imagine being three years into a project that doesn’t solve any user problems, and then saying, “I bet you can’t tell the difference!”
