    Yes, the screwed up voting. Yes, America is messy and decentralized and unplanned. Yes, we don’t have tyrants who can order entire cities or states to shut down. Yes, it is maddening. I guess that’s why I love this beautiful mess of a country.

    Important pending federal legislation on patent reform that hasn't yet made mainstream news, but will. The Inventor Rights Act seeks to strengthen the patent rights of inventors, versus patent trolls or large corporations with deeper pockets. Stay tuned as this develops.

    The Inventor Rights Act of 2019 could bring monumental change to the practice of law. Mainly, the Act attempts to provide greater protections to inventors who own their own patents. Associate Fred Carbone provides his thoughts here:

    The #1 cause of startup death is making something no one wants. The #2 cause is spending too much. Those two account for so many deaths that I'm not even sure what #3 is. If you merely make something people want and don't spend too much, you're way ahead.
