Disappointed that India did not withdraw their appeals against Dhananjaya DeSilva and Lahiru Kumara. Is dismissing batsmen on Zero the way we want to play our cricket? Shouldn’t we rightly allow them at least a single before dismissing them?

She’s been a novelist, a playwright, an essayist, a journalist, a writer for cinema, a historian of theatre — in both English & Marathi. The legendary Shanta Gokhale joins me in episode 311 of The Seen and the Unseen: seenunseen.in/episodes/2023/ This is a monumental episode. ❤️

Spot on. Brian Lara in his post-auction thoughts mentioned his team was not too worried about going after an allrounder because of the impact player rule which could solve the issue to some extent. Worrying signs.

The Impact Player rule will further hamper the development of all-round cricketers in a country that has very few quality all-rounders anyway #IPL

It is a combination of what MI want & what a player can offer + which name comes first. Stokes went cheaper because two teams who wanted an allrdr already got one. MI need a long term replacement for Pollard & have leaders. Stokes is very unreliable in terms of availability.

Must say I'm surprised that Cam Green has gone for more than Ben Stokes. Purely because Ben Stokes is already the player one expects Cam Green to be later in his career. Plus Stokes offers leadership option as well. #IPLAuction
