Innovator's Dilemma is one of the best business books I've ever read. Sad to see that the author, Clayton Christensen has passed away

This decade has been so eventful... I feel like I’ve lived 20 years, not 10. Lots of joyful moments but also lots of tough periods. I’ve learned a lot about myself, married my amazing wife and discovered my calling in life. So grateful to be alive. Looking forward to the big 3-0!

All big ideas that changed the world happened because the status quo pissed off the right kind of people.

Founders and VCs who want people to work 80 hour weeks under the guise of “hard work” culture — how about you pay double for double the work? Tweeting about it is free, but put your money where your mouth is if you really believe working all day is so much more effective.

Hiring is hard in an early stage company. All the people who have a great resume are being constantly hunted by the bigger companies. You need to get the great people that look bad on paper but have huge growth potential.

So true! My job now is exactly a result of what I was spending my entire free time on between the ages of 9-16.

The old company vanity metric used to be number of employees. The higher the better. The new metric seems to be how few employees you can have while making the most amount of money. Revenue per employee.

Podcasts, interviews, videos and books can help you learn and grow, sure. However, I think there is such a thing as consuming too much. At some point it just becomes another form of entertainment. What’s worse is that your brain tricks you into thinking it’s good for you.

when i was younger, i gave ppl advice frequently. now i’m more experienced, and i give less advice. i realized i can be very convincing even when i’m wrong (or just don’t know). now i give my opinion, but i encourage ppl to come to their own conclusions. i think this is better🙏🏼
