I'm very excited to share that my work with @PresNCM and @joshuaiglaser on S1 representation of reaching is now published in eLife! Thanks to some insightful reviewer comments, I think it's become a much stronger paper now. Begin thread... (1/6)https://elifesciences.org/articles/48198
No rhymes this time, but check out my previous limerick-heavy #tweeprint to get your fill of backstory (and poetry): https://twitter.com/raeedcho/status/1130848696919158787 … (2/6)

The big difference from the original preprint is in how we analyze the active/passive data. We found that while whole arm kinematics explain area 2 activity in the two-workspace task, it can't fully explain differences in activity between active and passive movements. (3/6)

On a related note: this article quotes
@svoboda314 saying “The paper should essentially be an advertisement of the data”. It's a fascinating idea, and I think this data fits the bill perfectly. (4/6)https://www.simonsfoundation.org/2019/10/02/why-neurophysiology-needs-an-mp3/ …Prikaži ovu nit -
So... If you want to explore a dataset with S1 neural recordings, arm motion tracking, forces on the hand, and estimates of joint angle and muscle lengths, all collected during two behavioral tasks (with bumps), you can find the full dataset here... (5/6) https://doi.org/10.5061/dryad.nk98sf7q7 …
