It is not semantics; your stereotype is factually untrue. Nerds- people who like nerd culture, like sci-fi/fantasy/anime/comics/games/etc- are a diverse group in terms of ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation. Read the hashtag
#blerds for just one example of many. -
The question of how to use the word “nerd” is not a fact. It changes over time and evolves. That’s what semantics is. I agree that nerds are a diverse group. My stereotyping doesn’t contradict that.
