I definitely remember doing this, picking your slip at Toys R Us. I even remember when one game was out, checking all the others to see if a ticket was misplaced. Not 100%, but I think I got Super Mario 64 this way, Doom on PS1 too... probably others, but foggy memory.
Remember when Toys ‘R’ Us had those paper slips that you would take to the counter when buying a new game? The joy and excitement it would bring waiting for the new video game to arrive from the back.

I loved going into toys r us to look at but I remember it being too pricey. Had to go to k mart.

Yes indeed...for Nintendo got tecmo bowl TMNT etc for Super Nintendo got TMNT super castlevania IV super Wrestlemania etc....

I worked at Toys R Us for years. Many departments never stopped doing this. Bikes especially.

So did I, well just one year in ‘03. By then, they did away with the paper slip system and transferred games to the shelves in the R-Zone or the new games in the glass shelf behind the counter. I still remember the slips for other things like bikes, but not the same
