SWATing is potentially homicide, similar to firing a weapon into an occupied dwelling. The hyped-up, militarized police who think they are in Fallujah are the unwitting accomplices to murder or manslaughter. The gamers who think it’s cute, and the police, both need to cool it.
Understandably, most will focus on the "SWATting" angle here. But we should also be asking about police training, fear, and threat assessment.
