It is important to note that the test conditions used for this #1MPTS figure did not ask the network to resolve any forks or represent real-life usage. It is more of a linear scalability test, basically throughput if I am not mistaken?

Note that this is the first in a series of tests and yes, it's focused on proving linear scalability, however, we'd like to stress that validation was one, nevertheless, the BTC blockchain doesn't have any double-spends. More on this here -https://www.radixdlt.com/post/test-method-part1/ …

Was it conducted on main net with real nodes spreaded geographically? Or it was just a test net?
-
The mainnet will be live during q4 2019. This was a test net, however, the test was run on over a 1000 nodes, spread across 17 cities. We will prepare a series of further tests, including open ones.

In the real network node key generation will involve a POW task and take about an hour - not a problem if you just need a random one, gets very expensive if you want to bruteforce keys in a specific range
