I might still tweet about E3 but fair warning, today I’ve got no patience for video games that glorify guns, gun violence or gun culture.

We need to have a serious discussion about how video games that fetishize guns and glorify gun violence end up contributing to gun culture.
-
The question is not “Do games make people killers?” Nope. The real question is “How do games that fetishize guns contribute to gun culture?"
-
There’s tremendous pressure in the games industry (and games media) to downplay any potentially negative impacts games may have on culture.
-
The reality is that the relationship between media and culture is cyclical. Media feeds culture, culture feeds media. It’s a feedback loop.
-
Because of the cyclical relationship between culture and media, it's critical to investigate the messages flowing from one into the other.

FWIW we play the same violent games in Europe and we’re mostly fine ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

"Real" gun culture is reprehensible. Guns in videogames- not the same. Did western movies contribute to gun violence?
